The Twin Cities’ Savvi stores have remained under the same family ownership since their inception in 1972. In 2003, the owners of the Gingiss name in Chicago, Illinois, filed for bankruptcy and dissolved the franchise system.  The Twin Cities operation was financially stable, healthy and the leading provider of men’s formalwear in the market. As a result, we joined a co-operative of the largest independent formalwear specialist in North America, forming a new entity known as Savvi Formalwear. The strength of the cooperative allows us to realize large company benefits regarding such things as buying power, resource pooling, and national branding, while simultaneously providing the exacting levels of customer service only possible with local, entrepreneurial ownership.
